about rina chae

INSPIRE. MOTIVATE. EMPOWER.

In New Zealand, Rina Chae was an Auckland University graduate in Bachelor of Performing Arts (2005). As a Dance major, she was heavily involved in the New Zealand dance industry as the co-choreographer and cheerleader for NZ Breakers Cheerteam, Auckland Blues Cheerteam, as well as being an active member of Triple8Funk hiphop crew and various corporate companies. She was also busy inspiring and training young dancers by teaching at various high schools such as Takapuna Grammar, Long Bay College, and Avondale College, as well as artistically directing & choreographing at Glenfield Jazz Studio.

Her dream however was to set an example for fellow Kiwi dancers, so October 2009, she set out on a 5 year journey to Los Angeles. There she trained, danced, and competed with the most elite dancers from all over the world. Her first big break on the US TV screen was in 2010, where she danced as a lead for “Svedka Vodka” Commercial. She continued to work hard, audition, and train, while assisting with a Jazz Funk class at the world-famous Millenium Dance studio (2010), and rapidly started building a solid resume in Hollywood.

In 5 years time Rina performed alongside some of the billboard’s top artists such as Beyonce (VMAS Mash-Up), Chris Brown “Fine China,” Justin Bieber “Boyfriend,” Neyo “Give Me Everything,” and Eric Benet “Harriet Jones.” She was a soloist at the New Years show at Las Vegas Aria resort, and travelled working in various burlesque shows at major resorts such as Las Vegas Bellagio, Bahamas Atlantis, Chicago the Wit, and Denver Hyatt. After going non-stop performing on stage and screen (TV/Film appearances in “Glory Daze,” “90210”, & “Face Off”), Rina decided it was time to head back home to Auckland, New Zealand – To inspire, motivate, & grow the next generation of dancers.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME
FOR NEW ZEALAND DANCERS

Rina’s mentorship programme is targeted at young professionals looking into dance as a career, and aims to bridge the gap between dance graduates and the professional industry.

Through the mentorship programme dancers would receive an introduction to commercial dance, music videos, dancing with artists, advertising work, live shows and tours, and dancing on stage and screen.

The programme will aim to foster development and self discovery in dancers, finding their own personal style and reaching their dreams.

Rina will provide guidance on audition technique, constructing resumes, and counselling on how to stay focused as an aspiring dancer, plus keeping mentally and physically fit for dance.
